Ruby Rose Flies High As A Dark Knight In 1st Trailer to the CW’s ‘Batwoman’

While fans continue to ponder the decision to hand Robert Pattinson the keys to the Batcave, there’s no doubt that Ruby Rose was the perfect choice to put on the cape and cowl for CW’s Batwoman series.

A few days after getting a teaser for the upcoming series, today we get the first full trailer and it did not disappoint at all. Centering around a Batman-less Gotham City, Kate Kane (Ruby Rose) finds herself following in her cousin Bruce Wayne’s steps after her girlfriend Sophie Moore (conservatives gonna blow a gasket over that one) is kidnapped while on her security detail. After finessing her way into her cousin’s Batcave, Kane is determined to revive the Dark Knight on her own terms.

“They think I’m him… I’m not about to let a man take credit for a woman’s work,” she calmly states after handing out some impressive fades to some baddies.

Check out the first trailer to The CW’s Batwoman below and let us know if you’ll be tuning in when it premieres this Fall.

Rihanna Blasts The 25 Men Who Voted To Criminalize Abortions In Alabama

The Alabama legislature doesn’t care about women. Particularly the 25 men who voted to criminalize abortions in Alabama, who Rihanna put on blast on social media.

On Wednesday (May 15), Alabama’s Governor Kay Ivey, a woman, signed the controversial Alabama Human Life Protection Act, which criminalizes abortion—even in the case of incest or rape. The ploy is blatantly aimed at attacking Roe vs. Wade in the Supreme Court, and the outrage was immediate.

Perhaps even more heinous was the fact that the 25 people in Alabama’s all-Republican Senate who voted in favour of the bill where all white men. Yep, a gang of old white guys are basically telling Alabama women what to do with their bodies.

Many people shared their photos, including Rihanna whose millions of followers make for a loud megaphone.

“Take a look. These are the idiots making decisions for WOMEN in America. Governor Kay Ivey…SHAME ON YOU!!!!,” was her caption.

Milwaukee Radio Station Bans Drake Tracks During Raptors Playoff Battle

With the Toronto Raptors and Milwaukee Bucks locking horns in the Eastern Conference Finals for the 2019 NBA Playoffs, a radio station in  Cream City has taken drastic measures. KISS-FM in Milwaukee will put a temporary hold on playing Drake songs as his team looks to even things up in the series.

From OnMilwaukee.com:

And local radio is no different, as the hosts of 103.7 KISS FM proclaimed today that hip-hop star Drake has been temporarily banned from its airwaves.

Or, put otherwise, this Kiki doesn’t love you, they are not riding and they are currently leaving from beside you.

Why all the anger at Aubrey? You see, Drake isn’t just a Raptors fan. He’s not even just a Raptors superfan, merely seen sitting courtside and politely applauding at Toronto home games. No, he’s a literal member of the franchise as a “global ambassador” for the team. The team’s training center has been renamed after Drake’s OVO brand, and one of the Raptors’ uniforms even uses Drake’s signature black-and-gold color scheme, putting his imprint literally on the team. So he’s much more than just a celeb fan. He’s an embedded and very annoyingly chirpy celeb fan who sits courtside by the team as if he’s an assistant coach and gets into tiffs with the players actually playing the game.

The Bucks and Raptors square off tonight at 8:30 PM with Milwaukee hosting and owning one game to zero lead in the best of seven contest.

‘Twilight’ Star Robert Pattinson To Be Given The Keys To The Batmobile For New ‘Batman’ Film

Just when it seemed like DC was getting their cinematic world back on track with critically acclaimed films like Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and even Shazam (who saw that one coming?), they go and polarize their fan base with a shocking new move that literally none of them asked for.

Months after Ben Affleck confirmed that he was hanging up the cape and cowl of the Batman, Variety is reporting that Warner Bros. is negotiating with none other than Twilight heartthrob Robert Pattinson to take on the role of the world’s greatest detective for Matt Reeves upcoming The Batman.

This would make sense if Twilight‘s Edward Cullen was still the object of tweenage girls affections but we’re already 7 years removed from that atrocity of a vampire franchise and those girls have become women who could probably care less about that inner workings of Gotham City. But regardless to what comic book fans may feel, Variety is reporting that Robby is Warner Bros. and director Matt Reeves top choice for the role and are expected to close a deal soon.

Truth be told after the debacle that was Batman V. Superman and the atrocity that was Justice League, we don’t really think it can get any worse for Batman at this point. But then again we did have to witness something called Batman & Robin back in ’97 and we’ll never get those precious hours of our youth back (damn you, Clooney!).

Reeves for his part has stated that his Batman film would not be an origin story and contrary to popular belief, would not be an adaptation of Frank Miller’s fan favorite Batman comic, Year One. Other rumors surrounding Reeve’s Batman film have the Penguin as the main antagonist and will supposedly focus on the caped crusader’s detective skills more than anything else. While those were welcome aspects of the film, Pattinson as the star was definitely a downer (no shots).

On a more optimistic note many, if not all of us had doubts that Ben Affleck could portray a respectable Bruce Wayne/Batman after an unknown Christian Bale absolutely slayed The Dark Knight trilogy, and Benny did pretty damn well. Unfortunately for him the scripts were doggy doo. Hopefully Pattinson will get something much better to work with and rise to the occasion like, well, y’all already know where this line was going.

Matt Reeves The Batman is set to swing into theaters June 25, 2021.

Rihanna Settles With Freedom United Clothing Brand Over F.U. Ripoff Allegations

Rihanna was locked in a legal tussle with the Freedom United clothing brand over the use of the F.U. logo on her Puma line. The singer and fashion maven settled with the company for an undisclosed amount, bringing the matter to an official close.

The Blast reports:

According to court documents obtained by The Blast, RiRi and the clothing company Freedom United have privately settled the case.

The judge then closed the case officially.

Last year, Freedom United sued Rihanna and claimed they have been making clothing with an “FU” logo since 2006 and even have it trademarked.

Freedom United said RiRi then launched her PUMA deal and began hawking items with a similar “F.U.” logo on her “Fenty University” clothing.

Rihanna is one to bigger and better things in the fashion world after it was recently announced that she’ll have her own line with the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group.

R. Kelly Accuser Faith Rodgers Testifies In Front Of Federal Grand Jury In NYC

Faith Rodgers, one of several women accusing R. Kelly of sexual assault and misconduct, testified in court this week in front of a federal grand jury in New York according to sources. There are two investigations pending in the state against the singer in addition to charges he faces in his home state of Illinois.

TMZ reports:

Sources close to the case tell TMZ … Faith Rodgers recently testified for a grand jury convened by U.S. Attorneys in the Southern District of New York, and we’re told more witnesses are expected to provide testimony against Kelly soon.

No way to know what Faith told the panel — federal grand jury proceedings are notoriously top secret — but she’s previously alleged Kelly gave her an STD and sued him last year for false imprisonment and sexual battery.

Faith was also featured in the Lifetime docuseries “Surviving R. Kelly” … and afterward she claimed Kelly posted private photos of her and sent a notarized letter threatening to reveal details of her sex life in retaliation for her talking publicly.

As we’ve reported, there are 2 Kelly probes currently underway in New York — one by the Eastern District and another by the Southern District — which is in addition to another case the feds are building in Illinois.

The outlet snagged a comment from a crisis manager named Darrell Johnson who responded to the latest findings.

“Mr. Kelly feels like the devil is working overtime in effort to try to destroy his musical legacy for selfish, personal enrichment. We feel everything will line up right on track when it is all said and done,” Johnson stated.

Malik Yusef Sued For Forging Kanye West’s Signature, Allegedly

ASCAP 2017 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards - Red Carpet

Talk about a plot twist. Longtime Kanye West affiliate Malik Yusef is being sued for allegedly forging Yeezy’s signature.

Basically, Yusef is being painted as a scammer in a Korean company’s lawsuit.

Reports TMZ:

Gentle Monster — a Korean-based fashion brand known for its eyewear — claims Yusef scammed the company out of $2.5 million by promising Kanye would create a video for the company. GM says Yusef even set up a meeting between Kanye and a rep for the brand, making it seem like Ye was on board for the whole thing. Kanye allegedly had no clue there was any type of business deal in place.

According to the lawsuit — obtained by TMZ — Kanye wasn’t the only celeb Yusef promised to deliver … he also claimed Pharrell, Jaden Smith and others would help out with the project.

GM says Yusef’s scam was elaborate — spanning over 9 months — and included forged signatures from Kanye and phony invoices made to appear like they were sent from legit talent agencies.

Apparently, the jig was up when Yusef submitted a video he said was created by Yeezy and Pharrell, that Kim Kardashian quickly said was not so.

Welp.

So far, no word from Yusef, whose Twitter bio still says he is a G.O.O.D. Music artist, regarding these allegations.
