Vector share visuals for “Clowns” (featuring Ladipoe) [Video]

After dropping his new album TESLIM: The Energy Still Lives In Me, Nigerian hip-hop superstar Vector returns with the visual for the song “Clowns” which sees him teaming up with fellow Nigerian rapper Ladipoe. The song in question is a pure display of lyrical schemes that blend bravado and insightful bars. Over a sparse and brooding soundscape, Vector sets it off with his punchline and wordplay-heavy lines followed by Ladipoe’s nonchalant flow. Together both emcees leave no stone unturned and also drop thought-provoking lines such as “No mentors, many millionaires/ they can’t show us the design because, behind every fortune, there is usually a crime“.

The accompanying visual is shot in black and white and focuses on subtle motifs, seamless transitions and the energetic performances of both emcees.

“Clowns” is taken from Vector’s brand new album TESLIM: The Energy Still Lives In Me, which is named after his late father as a dedication to his teachings and philosophy on life. Largely produced by Grammy Award-nominated producer and Burna Boy collaborator Mr Kleb, with additional production from the likes of Grammy winner Kel-P (Wizkid, Future, Adekunle Gold), Cracker Mello (Fireboy DML, Amaarae, D’Banj), and Major Bangz (Phyno, Olamide, M.I Abaga), with guest appearances with some of Africa’s finest artists including Wande Coal, Nasty C, Seun Kuti, Ladipoe, and GoodGirl LA, Vector’s TESLIM album is the culmination of a journey of rediscovery and realignment that has been five years in the making, sparked by the death of his father in 2017.
