Gully – “609” (Album Review)

When you hear of a rapper named Gully out of New Jersey you expect to get some raw, uncut, East Coast street music.  Gully does not disappoint with his new 5 track project “609“.  Soulful street hip hop complete with dope concepts from start to finish is what you get with tracks like “Heroin Blues”, and “How”.  With a variety of producers featured on this project, you are sure to find a sound that feeds the ear.  Beat makers on the album is Whoismike, Bvtman, V.Don, Prodbyea.  The “Outro” is really something you might want to put on repeat since it’s one of the deepest street songs I’ve heard in a while.

The Jersey independent Hip Hop scene definitly has something to look forward too with artists like Gully cookin’ up pure dopeness.  As a break out emcee out the East Coast, don’t expect Gully to fall off anytime soon.  Even though “609” is a short project with 7 total tracks adding the intro and outro, this project scores a 7/10 in our books.  Definitely something worth bumpin’!
