Grey Oakes is an emerging singer/songwriter from North Carolina who grew up playing guitar hero and listening to John Mayer‘s records. A recent graduate who just returned to his home town with a fresh perspective and mindset puts his thoughts on wax with his new single “Jetta.”
The self-written and produced track is Oakes’s own way of coming to terms with the way things are since his return to his old neighborhood. The title is a reference to the brand of car he drove throughout high school and it evokes a lot of good and bad memories and for the most part, offers a sense of relief. in some ways. Over the lush guitar arrangement and smooth grooves, Oakes takes us down memory lane and how things have changed. quite a lot.
