Marie Dahlstrom and James Vickery team up for the soothing single “I Don’t Wanna Wake Up”

By Tayo Odutola Word Is Bond

“I Don’t Wanna Wake Up” is the final leak from singer/songwriter Marie Dahlstrom as she prepares to deliver her much-anticipated debut album, Like Sand. The record is a solid collaboration between her and fellow London based soul-singer James Vickery.

Both acts are in their element on the Marie Dahlstrom produced cut which boasts lush piano chords and smooth textures over soft drums. Vickery set things off with his hazy, hush like vocals slowly drawing the listener into a dream-like state where they really don’t want to wake up. As expected Dahlstrom complements her male companion with her irresistible sultry vocals as well.

Dahlstrom is preparing to release her long-awaited debut full-length album Like Sand, out May 22nd. Recorded between LA, Copenhagen, and London, Like Sand, features collaborations with the likes of South London soul singer James Vickery, California based songwriter and producer Jeremy Passion, Brooklyn based singer/producer Elijah Fox, British guitarist Beau Diako and more.
